Questions
What people ask before they come
Do I need an exam if I see fine?
Yes. Many eye conditions cause no symptoms early on, and an exam also tells you whether your sight has changed without your noticing.
How often should I come?
Many adults come every year or two. The doctor tells you when to return, and sooner if your sight changes or you have a family history of eye disease.
Do you work with my vision plan?
We work with many vision plans. Call us with the name of yours and we will check it before your visit.
Why was part of my visit billed to medical insurance?
A routine exam goes to a vision plan. If the doctor looks into an eye problem or checks for eye disease, that part is billed to medical insurance. We explain it before you leave.
Can I fill my prescription somewhere else?
Yes. Your prescription is yours. We give you a copy after your exam and fitting, and you can fill it anywhere.
Can I have my contact lens prescription?
Yes, once your fitting is complete. It is yours to fill anywhere.
Can I visit just one door?
Yes. Come to the eyewear door for frames, a fitting or a repair without an exam, or come to the eye care door for an exam without buying glasses.
What do I bring to my visit?
Your current glasses and contact lenses, your insurance cards, a list of any medicines and eye drops you use, and your questions.
How much will it cost?
It depends on your plan and what you choose. How fees work explains who pays for which visit, and we give you a written estimate before anything you pay yourself.
What do I do in an eye emergency?
Sudden vision loss, a curtain over your vision, a sudden shower of floaters, an eye injury or a chemical splash needs care now. Call us right away or go to the nearest emergency room, and call 911 if you can't reach us.

Still have a question?
