Frame fitting
A frame that fits your face, not just your prescription
A fitting is a conversation with an optician, a mirror and a lot of frames.
Janet starts by asking what you need the glasses for: all-day wear, driving, reading, a pair for the weekend. Then she narrows the shelves down to a handful that suit your face and work with your prescription.
Shapes and sizes that suit your face
Frames that work with a strong or a progressive prescription
Nose pads, temples and fit checked while you wear them

What happens
From first try-on to the pickup
- 01
Step 1: Tell us about your day
Where you wear your glasses, and what bothers you about your current pair. A few minutes.
- 02
Step 2: Try on
Janet brings a handful of frames to the mirror. Take photos on your phone, and take your time.
- 03
Step 3: Measure
We measure how your eyes sit in the frame, so the lenses are centered where you look through them.
- 04
Step 4: Pickup and adjustment
When your glasses are ready we adjust them while you wear them, and show you how to care for them.
Before you come
What to bring
Your current glasses
A copy of your prescription, if it is from another office
Vision insurance card, if you have one
Who fits you
Janet Glover, our licensed optician, or another member of the eyewear team. Dr. Purnell or Dr. Dawson will check the lenses when they arrive.
How it is billed
A vision plan can cover part of frames and lenses. We check your plan first and give you an estimate in writing before anything is ordered.
